treeart Z @RT18173845 Oct 6, 2026 这部电影像一面镜子，当你觉得它晦涩时，或许正是因为它映照出了我们早已习惯的生存荒诞 See more Fatih A @RT12190382 Sep 22, 2026 It was nice to hear Turkish at the end See more Jason G @RT86337142 Sep 17, 2026 Amazing first half hour; see Richard Brody's comments. The first sequence is a masterpiece of color, sound, and setting and the greatness goes on, showing technology in a better light with the excellent robot scene. And the brilliance climaxes with a joke at 26:01 and the heroine's pathetic effort to add some purple color in the next shot. Sadly, it's downhill from here with dull dialogue and, thanks to dubbing, there's no performance at all from Richard Harris. Nice shots of people fading into the fog at 1 hour, 6 min and Monica Vitti sure tries hard. See more Alain E @AlainE Jul 5, 2025 A visual masterpiece, especially being the first color picture of Antonioni, it remains worth seeing. It successfully juxtaposes the emotional turmoil of the heroine with the devastation of industrial development in Italy. The extensive sequence at the beach with the little girl has not a very clear symbolism. Monica Vitti never appeared more beautiful or more vulnerable. See more Luca D @JoeCamel7 Feb 7, 2024 Very similar to his other films though I would say this one was considerably easier to follow. The meaningless scenes of people walking around are reduced in this film which makes it easier to pay attention to. Would say it's maybe a bit overrated. People love to claim movies they can't understand are "masterpieces" but coincidentally they can't describe why? "And that's what makes it a masterpiece" .. yea ok so you don't know how to feel about it and cant describe why you like it maybe your just hyping the movie up more than it deserves. To each their own I guess. Watch movies you don't understand if that's your bag. This one makes more sense than the others and I can definitely say it is a really good movie. Just maybe not a 95% in my opinion. See more Simon T @MovieTart Aug 11, 2023 Exasperating and unfathomable, this arthouse clunker features the gorgeous Monica Vitti wandering around an incredibly bleak and ugly industrial landscape and being pursued by a miscast (and dubbed) Richard Harris. Harris gives an uncharacteristically subdued performance and looks miserable throughout. Hard to believe this turkey is from the director of the magnificent The Passenger. See more Read all reviews
