What makes the movie sing is the fact that its characters feel like they exist beyond the margins of what we see onscreen, which is the biggest thing rom-coms lost after the 1990s. Go to Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Dec 28, 2010

Even the undercharged charisma of David Duchovny as Bob is well cushioned by the film's refreshingly zesty script. Go to Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) Feb 14, 2024

Robert P @Superbad Sep 30, 2026 Return to Me = a *4* star Movie! See more Huntin P @PaxVobiscum80 Sep 20, 2026 Endearingly soppy romantic comedy, unusual for having two British actresses in leading roles, both playing Americans. A sharper eye should have been kept on the actors. Just one example, there's a scene where an old man answers the phone and speaks his line before he picks up the receiver. But enough already. Let's celebrate life, love, gorillas who can sign, and people who volunteer to donate organs. See more Henry D @Henry_Domke Sep 11, 2026 Despite being predictable and formulaic, some of it worked. Almost every scene with Minnie Driver went up a notch. She was by far the most appealing part of the movie and the main reason we stayed with it. Unfortunately, many of the other scenes, especially the attempts at comedy, fell flat. See more Eileen R @RT45984784 Aug 25, 2026 Absolutely charming! A very sweet ( though improbable) premise I love the whole dynamic!!! See more Melissa L @Agent99 Jul 19, 2026 Great movie! Funny at times! Definitely a love story. For me, the bonus was it was set, and filmed, in Chicago, See more Fani A @RT59022243 Mar 27, 2026 Sweet, romantic, and beautiful family bond! oh i watch this movie many time. The father`s warm and love reminds me of my father who passed away. See more Read all reviews
