Nothing is quite what it seems and the twists of the plot are played out in some style by director Gary Fleder, who delivers some flashy montage sequences and avoids most of the usual clichs of New Orleans location shooting. Go to Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Mar 12, 2026

It's [John] Grisham at his finest. Spellbinding. Riveting. Intriguing. Hackman, Hoffman, Cusack and Davison. Put me in that courtroom now. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Jacob W @RT17896586 6 days ago This is another legal thriller penned by John Grisham. While it may not have the pace or excitement like previous John Grisham adaptations it has to be noted that this is the third pen to screen film to star Gene Hackman. The others being The Firm and the Chamber. However why this is worth watching is it’s the first time and only time we’re long time friends Hackman and Hoffman have appeared for the first and only time and is a great shame following there performance that it was never done sooner.
