Chris V @RT67356260 4 days ago Solid performances all around in a based on real life drama about journalism. The script does play it safe and there is little tension in the movie when it comes to the conflict and its resolution. I would have liked to have had the main character's state of mind and personal life explored with more depth. I enjoyed the movie and I am glad movies like this are made, but it feels more like a television movie than a Hollywood movie. See more Teddy S @Teddy_S Aug 24, 2026 Pretty solid but slightly over-rated drama. It does pretty well with what, in 2026 feels like a pretty low-stakes tale of a young journalist making up interesting-sounding stories in order to get ahead. Chloe Sevigny and Steve Zahn inject some life into the slowly simmering narrative. See more Jace E @thefilmguy Jun 23, 2026 How this movie made me feel in one word: Jittery. "Are you mad at me?" This movie was a surprise and I was pleased to see Hayden Christensen perform so well. Peter Sarsgaard also crushed his role. There is an uneasy feeling throughout the film as everything starts to unravel and I was hooked from the start. It's an underrated little gem. It's a factual account of Glass and his short time at The New Republic. He is outed as a fabricator of his own made-up stories and, ultimately, a flat-out liar. Without knowing him, that's how I perceive him to be. Director Billy Ray and writer Buzz Bissinger take an interesting view on the story. They make Glass (Hayden Christensen) the storyteller. He is the guest speaker in a classroom where he learned how to be a Journalist. There he tells the story of his short career at The New Republic. The cast is excellent and includes a few gems like Rosario Dawson and Melanie Lynskey. Peter Sarsgaard is Chuck Lane, the editor and foil for Glass. Hank Azaria is the former boss who gives Glass his excuse to be so bold as to lace everything he writes with lies. See more Read all reviews
