sarah H @Humphriessarah2 Oct 20, 2026 Pretty decent for how old it is. Good acting and just kind of a crazy real life story that I can't believe stuff like that actually happened and probably still happens. See more Vincent S @Vin_E_At_The_Movies Aug 17, 2026 Silkwood is a powerful, compelling real life drama that will leave you angry. That’s the power of this true potboiler with my favorite Meryl Streep performance of all time. She buries herself in the character, you don’t see the acting at all. She gets great support by Cher and Kurt Russell who proved here they would become acting heavyweights. Mike Nichols and writers Nora Ephron and Alice Arlen nail this down with a realistic moviemaking power. See more thiago S @Thiagostone May 30, 2026 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Scott R @ScottR Mar 8, 2026 NYT 1000 films. Great cast. Some bizarre social issues, but it’s based on a true story that should be told. It pits keeping jobs in a struggling industry vs safety and worker rights. It oversimplified many of the issues and didn’t explain what she was doing to prove her case. It just alluded to facts in a notebook. Could have been more compelling. One of my favorite aspects was how they showed the uneducated aspects of the workers, but how despite that they rose to the occasion because they needed to know what they were doing to protect their wellbeing. Saw on box. See more Evelyn X @yiyi1111 Jan 25, 2026 This is a tragic story based on true events. Even though the dangers of radiation were known, people still had to work to make a living, so they refused to provide evidence to the Union. Karen was bold and brave. Perhaps she gained this resilience from her early marriage and her children. Fortunately, she had the love and support of Andrew and Cher. Tragically, she suffered from internal radiation contamination. In the end, her fight to help the Union and challenge the company may have led to her untimely death. See more Mark S. @sparkysnyder Jan 7, 2026 Meryl Streep is gang busters but the movie is too long. Did Cher’s character spill the beans about the forged weld x-rays? See more Read all reviews
