Robot J @Robot2277 Jan 4 For a movie about the sun it was a real slow burn. See more delysid d 03/31/2018 oh man, from the sound of this story it sounded like it was the sort of thing i would love so i had to watch it... but i was sorely disappointed because this movie totally sucks! it was made just at that time when movies were becoming just formula driven crap and then things got only worse in the vaccum of the horrible 90s. See more 07/17/2015 ZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ See more 07/11/2014 Crisis would be an understatement as the sun threatens to fry most of life on earth while a corporation looks to take advantage of the situation by buying the planet while its perceived value is at the point of maximum pessimism. Sci-fi effort littered with familiar faces. Plot was a bit confusing to follow at times, probably has one too many plotlines for its own good. See more 05/22/2014 Solar Crisis has all the ingredients of a great film, big budget, A list stars and superb special effects. Unfortunately it all falls flat into a fetid stew of bad writing, poor pacing and a sub plot that really has nothing to do with nor any real impact on the main plot. The premise is silly, a massive solar flare is going to burn the Earth so a team of scientists with an anti-matter bomb are going to deflect it, while on earth a tycoon uses the crisis to buy up everything on earth while at the same time sabotages the plan to save the planet. One has to wonder how a tycoon will benefit when 50% to 90% of the world is dead. It would have made more sense if there was a chance the bomb would have had an adverse impact on the sun making the crisis worth, at least Peter Boyle's character would have had motivation that made sense. If you're a fan of Heston, Boyle, Palance, or Matheson it may be worth watching just to have a complete view of their filmography, otherwise there's no real reason to view this film. See more 02/22/2014 An impending solar flare threatens devastation on planet Earth. A space mission is dispatched to avert the crisis but is sabotaged by a diabolical corporation. Good visual effects mark this sci-fi entry with a big budget of $55 million but yet only managed a limited theatrical release. Shareholders of the IXL Corporation--if they survive the solar flare--can look forward to some stock appreciation and maybe even a dividend. See more Read all reviews
