While flying to his father's funeral in rural Appalachia, an intense storm causes Marquis to lose control of the plane carrying himself and his family. He soon awakens wounded, alone and trapped in Ms. Eloise's attic. Eloise claims she can nurse him back to health with a hoodoo figure she's made from his blood and skin. Unable to call for help, Marquis desperately tries to break free from her dark magic and save his family from a sinister ritual before the rise of the blood moon.

It was OK. Would have liked to know the reason for him being held. Unrealistic to have him pull out and put back in the nail in his heel. But good acting still.

🍅C- at best Okay, first and foremost, I felt like I was deceived yet again by my brother-in-law’s movie selection. I really like Omari Hardwick and the work he has done in TV dramas. However, I hate to say this, but this was not his best project. I wish he would have taken the time to really read the script and realize the ending was an absolute atrocity. Omari was amazing in the Power universe. Jo Beginning: Great. It really captivated the audience in my home. Middle: The plot began to unfold and had its jump-scare moments. Ending: This is the part that infuriated me. I could have made a better ending with a cat and a stick. I take my scary movies seriously, and the ending was very cheesy. I’m sorry, Jason—I can no longer trust you.

Spell (2020) is a film that has a very lukewarm start, but later on, when things start to happen and develop, it becomes very interesting to follow. The script, by the way, is quite slow and poorly written, the few characters it has fail to deliver good performances and delve into the central story.
