A generic musical fairy tale that suffers from a strong sense of déjà vu. Even with a heavyweight team behind the scenes, the film delivers a predictable script lacking the magic needed to stand out in the genre.

Spellbound is the kind of animated fantasy that completely won me over. The world is magical, the characters are incredibly likable, and the story has a lot more heart than I expected. The animation is gorgeus, the humor works really well, and the emotional beats hit surprinsgly hard. It feels like the sort of adventure movie I would have watched over and over again as a kid. A sweet, funny, and thoroughly enchanting film that left me with a huge smile on my face.
