John (Jason Lee) is a hard-working guy who only wants to marry his longtime girlfriend Elaine (Leslie Mann). Elaine and John have vowed to marry once they save $30,000 for their dream house. Things are fine until John's sister calls to remind him of his promise to pay his niece's tuition, which costs $29,829 and is due in two weeks! John turns to his friend Duff (Tom Green) to help him make $30,000 quickly. Duff convinces John to make a short-term commitment to petty crime.

J W @Born80sRaised90sWTF Aug 9 I don't know what the heck people are talking about. This film is so funny. It's like all of the other comedies of that era. Mall Rats, Chasing Amy etc. If you don't understand Tom Green's comedy, well... you're missing out. He's a 1990's-2000's Andy Kaufman. Strange and unusual. And Jason is awesome as always. The fact that this film got a 9% just shows you that people have no taste. Shame on ya'll. Conclusion: If you want to watch a classic 1990's-2003 comedy, this is a good one. Not the best, but def. worth watching. Don't listen to all these Debbie Downers with no taste. And it’s been one of my favorites ever since. So many one liners that I say often, usually to the confusion of others. Is it the comedy of a generation? No, of course not, but it’s fun and I truly think hold up well today. I’ve managed to make a lot of people “Stealing Harvard” fans, so do yourself a favor and give this movie a watch.
