What to Know

Critics Consensus

The latest iteration of Street Fighter has plenty of affection for its source material and doesn't lack for dizzying style, but its incoherent storytelling and juvenile humor make for a disappointing regression among video game adaptations.

So shoot me vidgamers—the movie version is a hot mess with a few decent fights thrown in at the end, which are too little and too late Go to Full Review

It's silly and overstuffed, but there's a sense that Sakurai and his cast are in on the joke and having fun with it. Go to Full Review

It’s almost impressive when a film like "Street Fighter" fails so blatantly across multiple genres. Go to Full Review

Street Fighter isn't the great adaptation we've been waiting decades for, but for the first time, it feels like Hollywood finally knows which buttons to press. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

It’s entertaining enough, if your idea of entertainment is a ton of stylized action that’s reminiscent of button mashing a 16-bit console as opposed to tactical elegance. Go to Full Review

Facebook U 3 hrs ago I know this movie hasn’t done well at the box office and my cousin didn’t like this movie, but my Dad, brother in law, and me really enjoyed it. I played the video game as a kid so this was a much better depiction of the game compared to prior live action movies. The ending left room for a sequel and I hope the studio makes one, even if just for streaming. With everything in the past animated and the present live action, you really get a look at how things are the way they are. This movie stars Ryu as he is struggling to control his rage inside. It draws a lot from Ken, who really supports the film. Even Chun Li is tasked with important parts of this film. You get crazy fight scenes, that would kill an ordinary man, but I'm Street Fighter they are close to a knockout. You get fantastical simulations of the actors performing the stunts and the digital artists adding in the effects of it. You even get Ryu facing off against Akuma in the end (but does not die). Overall, this is a good movie that should be watched either now or as a download. See more Read all reviews
