Claudio C @Claudio666 Aug 22 Excessive Use of Cliches Destroy the Film (12,638 – 21 Aug 2026) In London, the Security Officer Katherine "Kate" Abbott is transferred from Wahington to help the personnel. When she stops the process of the Romanian Dr. Emil Balan, the chief Bill Talbot assumes the case. However, she suspects and reports to her superior Sam Parker. The terrorist Watchmaker is contacted and requested to eliminate Kate. It is Bill’s birthday and his team goes to a restaurant to celebrate. They note that they forgot to buy a gift and Kate leaves the restaurant and goes to a nearby shop. But the restaurant blows-up and Kate is hunted down by the Watchmaker. She is framed and wanted by the Londoner Secret Service and Police. "Survivor" (2015) could have been a great thriller. The cast has magnificent cast and performances, the cinematography is great and the story is good. Unfortunately, the excessive use of cliches destroy the film. My vote is six. The writing was sparse , way to many chase scenes, and the plot a little far fetched. But it was entertaining & it was the acting that made it a worth the watch. There were many pieces missing from the continuity of the movie as though the screen play wasn't completed or else there were many film slices left on the editing floor. Milla Jovovich does a solid job carrying the film. She brings strength and credibility to the role, holding the story together through sheer presence. Dylan McDermott also delivers a strong performance, grounding his character well. Pierce Brosnan as the villain is an unexpected highlight, flipping his heroic image into something ruthless. Where Survivor struggles is its lack of depth. The story feels rushed, skipping chances to build stronger emotional stakes or a more layered narrative. Several plot points feel underdeveloped, leaving the film incomplete. Still, Survivor works as a one-time watch. Not as much action & suspense but still not as bad as the critics found. Lost one star for a couple of missed or forgotten characters that made me question, Hey! What about...
