Critics Consensus

Susie Searches is clever and frequently fun, although its jumbled tone and increasingly hard-to-believe story undercut overall enjoyment.

As a Hitchcockian thriller with a slippery hero, this film can be ruthlessly effective.

If “Susie Searches” wanted to critique the true-crime podcast trend, it could have done so more directly. For now, we have a movie at odds with itself and its main character.

Despite its narrative shortcomings, the film builds a tense and mischievous mood that acts as its hook.

The film’s low-budget nature undercuts elements of how the story balloons into something bigger; those national morning-show and late-night show sets don’t quite cut it.

There are so many solid twists and turns as we follow this girl detective with a dark desire for recognition. [...] The mystery is pieced together really well and, if you go in without knowing anything, it’ll really surprise you.

It's a great movie and just when it's almost over, and just when the kidnapper/murderer seems to have gotten away...perhaps justice will be served.

It's a movie…. I left the movie being like "okay well that happened" The actors are great, but I still don't know what I was supposed to feel for the characters or what the movie was trying to portray…

The whole time while watching, Susie Searches I could help but wish this had been made into a limited series rather than a feature length film and after that ending I think this needs to happen ASAP.
