Critics Consensus

Neither entertaining enough to recommend nor remarkably awful, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may bear the distinction of being the dullest movie ever made about talking bipedal reptiles.

I can’t think of a recent blockbuster that’s been raked across the coals as much as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Go to Full Review Peter Hartlaub San Francisco Chronicle Mar 20, 2020

The whole "TMNT" movie is over-inflated; like watching an otherwise tolerable music video, stretched out to 101 minutes. Go to Full Review Donald Clarke Irish Times Mar 20, 2020

It's the epitome of dumb summer movie. And it pulls in at under an hour and 45 minutes. For that alone, it's way better than the latest Transformers flick. Go to Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Oct 7, 2026

This version of TMNT doesn’t quite have the heart or development that keeps you as engaged or entertained throughout. It does some parts well but mostly it falls flat. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Jackson R @RT33629940 4 days ago I absolutely loved this movie as a kid. I think that it captures exactly what the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can and should be. The music is amazing and the designs are so cool. See more Bill Y @RT47100412 Oct 10, 2026 Ugly mess of a movie. Solid performances for the turtles for most part. But the bad designs and writing let them down. See more Dimitris T @RT36270210 Oct 6, 2026 It's not adventurous, not funny, there is no writing or direction in this. It absolutely sucks. See more Lincoln D @Linclovesmovies Aug 17, 2026 Lacks real depth, but Micheal Bay's TMNT is still an awesome sci fi action movie. See more Her M @Hermommy Aug 12, 2026 Sooooo good!!! Omg!! They captured everything i always knew the TMNT could be!!! Loved this!!
