The movie, in fact, isn't as much fun as a night at a disco, because the editing is so nervous that we never get one sustained musical number that's allowed to build to a satisfying climax. Go to Full Review Eric Henderson Slant Magazine Apr 11, 2006

There is a transvestite who takes about eight hours in the men's bathroom to electric shave his bust, making him the only gay in this disco (aside from Debra Winger's AC/DC dance partner). Go to Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com Sep 10, 2023

…something of a blast from the past, a light-weight, high energy slice of disco promotion that was dated by 1979 and now feels like a time capsule… Go to Full Review Steve Crum Video-Reviewmaster.com Mar 6, 2008

CodyZamboni Z @CodyZamboni Nov 17, 2025 Time capsule movie. Music comedy set at height of disco rage. Amusing in spots, But lots of lame comedy, A few endearing characters, But most are annoying, Loved when Donna Summer sang Last Dance , And The Commodores make an appearance at the end. Nice to see future stars Terri Nunn, Debra Winger, Jeff Goldblum. See more Pablo D. M @saicomoviefan Sep 8, 2023 This is a movie that's unfortunately of it's time and place in pop culture and it doesn't work in certain areas in 2023. The proformances from The Commadores and the late Donna Summer in what was to be her one and only film role as a singer trying to impress the DJ. Some of the characters are great but of the time this film was placed in. As a 51 year old, this movie should have stayed back where it belongs. My two cents spent. See more Emilio T @MilloTPue Oct 9, 2020 Just a movie to spend the time, but good to remember music in the 70s. See more Aug 13, 2020 It's hilarious! Meanwhile people on this site give Thank God It's Friday one or two stars but will brazenly give a horrible movie in the 2000's era five stars. What the hell do you know about comedy? Obviously nothing you stupid millennials! See more Jul 11, 2020 Donna Summer, Andrea Howard, kittens all!! A fun trip back to the 70's, great music See more Jul 11, 2020 Disco cult classic. Soundtrack full of many hits, Motown Productions showcase their talent well in the film. This film is a nice break from the tense world we live in today! See more Read all reviews
