However sad the dearth of substantial film roles for older actors, it's far sadder to watch them partake in anemic affairs like "The Lightkeepers," a lifeless period romance of the cutesy-cantankerous persuasion. Go to Full Review Chuck Bowen Slant Magazine May 7, 2010

The Lightkeepers is bafflingly lame in execution: A number of cuts don't match, and the entire film has a herky-jerky stop-and-start lack of momentum. Go to Full Review Brian Orndorf BrianOrndorf.com Nov 16, 2010

While it's a feature of commendable morality and casting accomplishment, the filmmaker once again submits a bloodless viewing experience slavish to retro dramatic ambiance, while lacking the directorial chops required to keep it all awake. Go to Full Review Kam Williams NewsBlaze May 6, 2010

A pleasant, if predictable, period piece to be savored as much for the breathtaking seascapes as for the deliberately-paced romantic roundelays. Go to Full Review Scott Foundas L.A. Weekly Dec 29, 2009
Nothing if not consistent, Adams again shows an uncanny knack for marshaling ordinarily good actors into static, gauzy compositions and having them declaim dialogue like "By thunder!" and "If I'm confectionary with my women, drown me!" Go to Full Review Read all reviews
