The Bricklayer follows a rogue insurgent blackmailing the CIA by assassinating foreign journalists and making it appear the agency is responsible. As other nations begin turning against the U.S., the CIA must lure Steve Vail (Aaron Eckhart) -- their most brilliant and rebellious operative -- out of retirement. With an elite and deadly skill set, Vail is tasked with helping clear the agency's name, forcing him to confront his checkered past while unraveling an international conspiracy.

It’s a fun, exciting movie, but definitely too much violence that goes on and on and on… I just fast forwarded through it. Half as much in the way of fighting and violence would have been plenty! Otherwise I liked it.

The premise of this story is an old one, and it is not the first time it has been retold. Why do we continue to remake the same stories? Consider reading a book! There are many books and book series with original ideas that have never been adapted to the screen. Perhaps it is finally time to tap into that wealth of original storytelling for adaptation to this medium. Specifically, for this movie, I have only one question: How does our "hero" transition from effortlessly defeating ten opponents without sustaining any injuries or even breaking a sweat to later nearly being killed in a one-on-one rematch with one of those he had previously defeated with a single punch?

Storyline is as predictable as it is bad, movie has no grip, photography is unimpressive and actors are badly directed. The movie moves along slowly interweaved by boring punching fights and a few lousy car chases. No spark, no ideas, no talent. The only passable thing is miles davis music, but even that is intercepted rather than played.

All the other problems with the film are real, but at least I can clearly and easily follow what happens in hand to hand fights. They do a long shot and you can see everything clearly. Which is a lot better than many films. - - It's a bit of a b movie and it's not funny enough to make up the difference, but honestly the action is pretty good.

Looks like it was shot on an iPhone 5 and script by a 12 year old. The incar scenes are trash, no motion for car or actors and crappy green screen behind. Movie is garbage.
