Aye E 1d I always found this a perfectly fine movie, with appealing performances from everyone and of course Meryl Streep beyond perfect. On rewatch of course the fashion doesn't all stand the test of time, but the point still comes across. But the thing that ages the worst is Andy's relationship. That boyfriend is immature and unsupportive and her friends are jerks. As if there isn't anyone that has to compromise something for their job, especially when it sounds like she took the job because she couldn't find one in her field. As hard as it was, they only made it harder. Only the one guy friend shows an interest in her job and doesn't hold it against her. See more D H @Gotham Feb 8 A solid, drama-comedy. Then also got turned off by how the industry back then still embraced animal skin as a plus on bags and belts. But when you pass all that , it’s a story of self discovery and how some values are not for sale.
