Five friends set out on one last adventure along Thailand's stunning coast, eager for a final thrill before life in the real world begins. They sign up for a guided swim through a remote cave system known as The Devil's Mouth, a natural wonder that's as breathtaking as it is unforgiving. Deep inside the labyrinth of narrow waterways, their journey takes a terrifying turn when they discover that a freak storm the week before flooded the caves with sea life. The creatures died in the fresh water, but something survived... and it's hunting them now--fast, silent, and deadly. Every corridor they round is overflowing with anxiety, and every wrong turn becomes a deadly encounter. As panic spreads and their sense of direction slips away, the group begins to fracture. Trust erodes, fear takes over, and survival becomes a savage game. In the suffocating darkness, every choice could be their last as they learn that to make it out alive, sacrifices must be made.

It’s been hyped as the first fresh-water shark movie. Sad to say, that’s the only thing fresh about it. Go to Full Review

It’s just aggressively forgettable instead of memorably awful, which is almost worse. Go to Full Review
Guy Lodge Variety Jul 30
It’s the shark’s appearances, surprisingly, that lack bite. Denied a point of view or much in the way of a closeup, the CG killer never feels a particularly distinctive or palpable presence, while its lunges take on a fairly predictable pattern. Go to Full Review

I'm not sure how you make a 'The Descent'-but-with-a-shark movie boring, but 'The Devil's Mouth' proves that anything is possible. Go to Full Review

Newton and Condor deserve better than what the script provides and one wishes the different caves were more distinct, but as a pale imitation of The Descent (with a shark), this is dumb fun. Go to Full Review

So no, the shark isn't the scariest part of this thriller. Nevertheless, The Devil's Mouth was entertaining to watch, if you have nothing else to do on a Friday night. Go to Full Review

Nalini T @RT05451763 1d Such a dumb AI shark. Bunch of idiots screaming. We rooted for the AI shark to kill those kids. The way it hunts the characters inside those narrow tunnels is completely rubbish!!!! sharks cannot swim backwards yet it shows the shark backing out of tight spaces hundred times so it can keep attacking.. nonsense. RUBBISH movie. See more angel W @ijustwannawritestuff 1d If you're having a bad day and need something to top it off, add this half baked rubbish to your list. I'm sure they put enough effort in writing the script, casting, wadrobe and all that, whatever they paid, they need to go get it back. This movie is a complete waste of time and space and honestly should be taken down for its ludicrous energy. The whole movie is about Max and her toxic energy leading to the untimely death of all her friends. Not like they even wanted to leave, i mean they were the epitome of bad friends. Your friend is bleeding but the smartest thing is to keep moving so that what? she can bleed to death?Dont even get me started on how infuriating Sara was, whining all the time about how she was protecting her friends? please. she should have been the first to die. The only likeable character in this movie was the shark and it ended up being killed in such an undeserving way. This is not the type of movie that's bad enough to be nice, its just straight up... BAD!! See more Mel G @Mel_G 1d LAME! A bunch of screaming kids and a horrible AI shark. I couldn't even finish the movie it sucked so bad. Zero stars. Would not recommend. See more dennis V @RT08227866 3d meh...just another AI shark movie. Good for people that have never seen a real shark swim, but the AI is just to rediculous. The story can be told in one breath. See more Rebecca L @RT17659799 4d The only well-written character is Kathryn Newton's Sara. And maybe the hot diver guy. The writing and plot development are abysmally bad. 99% of the problems this group runs into are because of the toxic Max character (Lana Condor). She stubbornly plows ahead, forcing everyone into one bad decision after another, needlessly putting everyone at risk. And everyone else is somehow incapable of saying no, even when she is leading people to their death. Ludicrous. The story presents the group with one sensible solution after another, only for them to discard it because Max doesn't want to do it. Like what? We could have had an appealing story where Max leads them into maybe one or two bad decisions, but have the characters be more or less reasonable otherwise. The writers also waste the chemistry between Sara and the hot diver guy. We could at least have had a more interesting character dynamic if he had not died immediately. The way the shark is defeated is also completely ridiculous. See more Johnwil B @Johnwil123 4d 72% range somehow it is enjoyable but the ending was lackluster and what did sara proved after she killed a shark? like yeah she survive but she can escape without killing it in the first place. But I guess to take revenge on her friends that got killed. See more Read all reviews
