A devastating nuclear attack thrusts nine strangers together in the bunker-like basement of their New York apartment building. The survivors are trapped underground with no hope of rescue, and only horror on the other side of the door. As supplies dwindle and tempers flare, they become increasingly unhinged by the close quarters and hopelessness of their situation, and turn on one another. Still, one survivor holds on to a thin chance for escape, even though salvation is unlikely.

Gens' film, while a far darker vision of the day the world ends, is more sexually sordid than satisfying. Save the humans? Why bother?

Its nihilism feels cynical rather than authentically bleak, and the increasingly histrionic scenes start to resemble an indulgent actors' workshop that has spun out of control.

Michael Biehn and Rosanna Arquette are in the cast but not helped by a cursory screenplay.

The film’s muddled metaphors suggest the filmmakers have resolved to explore the situation merely to test the limits of revulsion, leaving the audience with an expected sense of doom, but not in a way that fills us with admiration

While not an easy movie to watch, it is a movie that deserves to be seen, if for no other reason than so that all of us can decide whether or not the lucky ones died in the blast.

The one valuable lesson gleaned from The Divide? We learn a multitude of new uses for duct tape! However, one of them should be to seal the film canisters of The Divide shut to save you from seeing it.

The movie starts off really good but halfway through it falls flat. The movie would’ve been a lot better if some of the group tried to work together to escape or try and find out what was happening outside the bunker. After a while the movie gets boring and a little disturbing at times I wouldn’t recommend it the storyline goes absolutely nowhere.

Interesting and grisly plot, and a lot of purposely unlikable characters. Very interesting watch as a lot happens.

Whilst the cinematography and even the sound directorship is great, the story line and script is atrociously illogical. There is no sense. The characters were written so poorly that they chose all the worst decisions in the entirety of the film.

The Divide was by far one of the worst, disgusting movies I've ever seen. I should have turned it off way before the sexual violence started; assuming the two men would get what they deserved way before the end of the movie. I feel that many, many times throughout the movie the other survivors had many opportunities to come up against the two "warped and demented" men and stopped them. Totally disturbing and I pray it gets out of my mind but I don't believe it will because of the horrific plot. The movie didn't start out too bad but went into a totally different direction then I would ever have thought. Also, suprised Arquette would take on a role such as this. DON"T WATCH!!!!

I truly regret wasting my time watching this movie. The plot was quite simplistic,it had too many lose ends, completely illogical at times and a lot of sexual violence and gruesome scenes that contradicted the next scenes. It just lacked profundity, credibility, suspense etc. I get the general idea of humanity losing itself but that wasnt portrayed in the movie. I was left wondering what kind of psychos would write such a completely nonsensical script. Eron Shaaen and Karl Mueller apparently.
