Frans B @FransB Aug 21 Very well done. Well written and depicts the real life situations in a Hollywood dramatized manner, but nevertheless ... Good cinematography and digital effects makes for stunning visuals. Very capable cast all excels in character, enjoyed Holliday Grainger in character. Filled with enough action, suspense, drama, emotion, intrigue and some twists. Gritty and real world feel to it at times. Entertaining and captivating See more bruce C @bruce999 Aug 3 a coast guard drama, of a man, who falls in love with a woman, lots of music, and few words. he obeys an order, during a bad storm, which should of ended his life and others lives.... but, see how he survives. too much drama music for my taste...but worthwhile still the same why some officer would order someone out to risk their lives, when the weather is that bad , to save others, i don't get. See more Michael M @Mooch1970 Jul 19 It has its flaws but it’s a very entertaining film. Loved Casey Affleck and Chris Pine’s acting in this and I think they are the ones who actually carry the film. Could have cut back a little on the romance part but that didn’t take away from enjoying the film. Loosely based on the true events but it definitely shows the heroism of the real story. The sound was one of the best parts of the movie, completely immersive and especially effective in our home theater. The visuals and special effects were also stunning, even though we were not watching it in 4K. It became sentimental at times, but in a way that worked. So obviously all the on the hurricane oceans scenes have to be CIG, but it's not done well. You can tell they are all in a studio. They don't even try to act cold in a freezing snow storm on the freezing ocean. Not believable. And all of the characters are not likable or appear to be overly bright for some reason.
