But you hope that it will correct the second movies mistake of it going beat by beat like the original and then it takes it way too fucking far by there not even being a hangover in a movie called the hangover See more Zane T @ZaneThind May 8 While this third installment is better than the second one, it still falls short of the first movie. This definitely has its funny moments but instead if being the comedy we love, it's just a crime thriller like the second one. Also, why was Jade's payoff in this film instead of the second one? Her story with Stu should've been more in-depth in the second one, I'm glad that she got some sort of payoff but it should've been done in Part II and better. Zach Galifianakis and Ken Jeong are also just unbearable at this point. And it started from the second film as well. I know there was a tease for Part IV but after these two sequels thank god we don't have a Part IV still. This also should've been the foreshadow of how Todd Phillips is not great with sequels and I am saying this because I'm one of the many that saw Joker 2. With how bad that movie was, we all should've seen it coming with these two Hangover sequels. The dialogues are bad and not funny, Alan is more obnoxious than ever, to the point where no sane person would ever tolerate him (not to mention leave him alone with a small child, ever!). The chemistry among the trio remains intact, and some sequences deliver solid entertainment. It’s darker, more action-driven, and doesn’t rely on the same "wake up and figure it out" formula. Risky move—but it pays off. The humor hits differently, but the energy never drops.
