Critics Consensus

It arguably plays most strongly to fans of the British series, but even viewers who have never seen The Inbetweeners on TV may find themselves won over by the film's surprisingly tender ribaldry.

Plenty of funny bits, and apart from some fairly appalling underlying sexism -- guys, screw up all you like, the movie says, because the nice, pretty girls will forgive any transgression -- it actually attempts to have heart as well.

You may not be proud of it, but you'll probably find something to laugh at in "The Inbetweeners Movie."

This is one overly long television treatment not fit for feature length running time.

Compared to its closest ancestor from across the pond, American Pie, this is a more genteel, less varnished, British view of awkward teens trying to get their leg over.

It's a funny little movie which fittingly follows on from the conclusion of the show. Compared to the show, there's not much wit or ingenuity behind it but the Inbetweeners, as a franchise, is truly one of the cornerstones of British culture.

I was expecting more. It's not really how I thought it was going to be. It was alright though.

A gift for fans, capturing the show’s vibe in a way most adaptations can’t when jumping from small to big screen.
