Crehan does not take any easy routes with topics such as autism, teen pregnancy and family relationships - the characters are layered and flawed and seem like real human beings. It's funny, romantic and very well-written and performed - a little gem.

I have been wondering when this movie will become interesting or at least make me laugh a little... as some of the reviews claimed it did for them. I'm now more than an hour in and I want to change the channel more than ever. I don't believe anything or anyone. I am bored. I must just not be like anybody else. Haha I always suspected as much. :)

These critics underscoring this film just don't appreciate the nuances of rural Ireland. We really do ring up Joe Duffy to complain about everything. Doing the right thing, even if breaking the law, is a very Irish trait. Which could have been hammy if we were subjected to silly ‘scenarios', but the writer/director kept it paced and lighthearted. It reminds me of the Irish films we use to get in the 1980's/90's.
