Tim S @TimBSanders Oct 18, 2026 50 young men are chosen from each state to compete in a Military run T.V. show "The Long Walk" with the ultimate winner gaining riches and a once in a lifetime wish. Televised to the whole Country the competitors have to remain on the pathway and sustain 3 miles per hour at all times with only 3 strikes allowed. In a sort of mash up reminiscent of "Stand By Me" and "Battle Royale" the competitors sort themselves  into friendship groups as one by one those who fail are killed.  With the actors having to walk the 300 miles on set , in order to  deliver a performance with as much realism as possible lead actors Cooper Hoffman and David Johnsson are standout in their roles. Director Francis Lawrence along with cinematographer Jo Willems manage to make a very restrictive environment become a magnificent backdrop to a really dark story about state control and society's exploitation of the vulnerable.  See more Bewbz T @RT91142973 Oct 9, 2026 The premise is there, and it starts off strong, then seems to drag along to a predictable, well worn storyline. Nothing new here. See more Sheri E @RT92965153 Oct 12, 2025 I found it to be soulful and riveting. I know it's in the horror genre because the premise of the move is horrifying. Yes it is violent however, it just wouldn't work if it wasn't. The acting is impressive and sucked me right in. I won't forget this movie. Steven King has a heart. For me it was a really good movie. I am glad I saw it. See more Amy H @RT44417044 Sep 24, 2025 Book was great. Not a fan of the movie. Too extreme violence…we know characters are shot but c’mon… Characters not well developed…could have used more flashbacks to become invested or understand backgrounds better. I felt traumatized and hid my eyes constantly to avoid extreme violent images. Also HORRIFIED to see a young child walking out with their so called “parent figure”! What’s wrong with people. Terrible movie-terrible adaptation. Sorry I went. See more Dee S @RT90042921 Sep 20, 2025 Not a huge fan of foreign subtitles but gave it a shot nevertheless. The sub titles were up and down so fast at times and I could not always finish and I'm not a slow reader. It took a while for me to understand basic plot/storyline and even then it was hard to follow at times. At near 2 hours, I felt the movie was too long. It could go either way: it is not a must watch but I would not watch again and would not recommend. See more Read all reviews
