The music department, as well as Courcol’s lively directing and writing, must be commended for scenes of the brass ensemble playing and rehearsing, in a constantly dynamic interaction with dialogue. Go to Full Review

"The Marching Band," Emmanuel Courcol’s affecting brotherly drama, possesses a life-affirming soul whose earnest feelings invariably cut down on its potential complexity. Go to Full Review

The Marching Band builds to a conclusion that is solemn and celebratory, with a flourish that is winkingly martial and unexpectedly tender. Go to Full Review

With natural performances from the cast, a touching story, and a layered plot, The Marching Band is a must-watch. It celebrates how music brings people together but doesn’t shy away from spotlighting the socio-economic crises we’re living through. Go to Full Review

While this movie has a few sour notes, when it focuses on the relationship between the brothers at its core, it is a beautiful melody. Go to Full Review

Bruce 4d Great storytelling and acting. See more Robert C @RT62398999 4d Good concept, delightful cast, but a mess of a script made this an uneven and ultimately disappointing film. I counted at least 8 subplots, 5 or 6 of which should have been abandoned in the writer's word processor. And despite marketing that made me think I was going to see a madcap comedy, this was a very sad drama with a few jokes tossed in. Borderline worthy of your attention. See more Moody C @MoodyC Aug 25 I was surprised to see so many people in an afternoon show, don’t these people have jobs lol? Normally, it’s just me & 2 or 3 peeps watching. It’s one of those saccharine, cutesy dramedies that manipulatively pull heart strings & does a fairly good job though I can’t help thinking how director thinking yup, here is where they cry & here is where they get emotional. Everything felt contrived & just happens suddenly with no real reason or unity of plot. See more leonard S @RT00394381 Aug 21 what a great opening, wonderful ending and outstanding story in the middle. what more could you ask for. if you like classical music, you got that too. only two minor complaint. subtitle sometime when by too fast and unable to read it all and sometime it was white on white and unable to read it. but it is well worth your money and time. See more Runa R @runa.r May 21 A delightful, very well-made film with a charming story. See more Steve W @Yooblues Feb 1 A charming film. Well written, well cast, well-acted. A simple story with a very emotional finish See more Read all reviews
