Just watched The Martian again some ten years after I saw it the first time. Damn, still packs the same punch as the first time. The performances, the script & direction all work seamlessly where the sun of the everything that went bingo making this movie is better than each of the awfully damn good individual parts. My only tweak would have been to remove the sly romance between characters played by Mara and Stan - an unnecessary Hollywood chilce/trope.

The movie is ok.. but the music ruines it. Why olay complete tracks from abba and other useless music The songs doesnt even relay to the movie. And it takes you out of the story. Actually in one song it goes lala lala lala for 1,5minute. That was enoying so after the whole waterloo song from abba, i shutted the movie, off. So the music realy ruines the movie. The producer should think in advance if het wants to make a comedy or a real movie with a good story. This is rubbish

The Martian is such a smart and entertaining movie. I loved watching Mark Watney use science, creativity and determination to survive when he’s completely alone on Mars. It shows how staying calm, thinking differently and never giving up can make a huge difference. A thrilling and inspiring watch that kept me hooked till the end.

Damon offers insight on a difficult situation left on Mars. He truly shows you never give up. What most struck me was farming potatoes on Mars when my Dad taught me this at age 10 on our Wisconsin farm. It brings smiles every time. I will continue watching this movie many more times.
