It's a long time ago I watched this movies. But I have no recollection of this anymore. So I though it would be fun to rewatch it! It was! It's an interesting movie, but especially mysterious. Who are this kids, were are they, what's happening and ho the hell is WCKD? Loved the civilization that is build by the kids in the maze. The cast is great and the characters are interesting, also the story is good. Great start for the franchise. Loved the twist and suprise at the end though. If I got the time I will watch the sequel tomorrow. Excited I starting rewatch this trilogy. Ps. I loved Chuck, they did Chuck dirty! The questions surrounding the Maze, the Glade, and the boys' missing memories keep the story engaging from beginning to end, revealing just enough information to make you want answers without giving away too much too soon. Director Wes Ball created a really interesting world that feels fully realized. The Glade has its own rules, traditions, and hierarchy, making it feel like a real community rather than just another YA setting. Dylan O'Brien is a solid lead as Thomas, while Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Ki Hong Lee help make Newt and Minho memorable. The action is exciting, especially whenever the Grievers appear, and the tension rarely lets up. Some supporting characters aren't developed beyond their assigned roles, and WCKD remains too vague by the end. The ending also spends more time setting up sequels than providing complete closure. Still, the mystery, world-building, and pacing make this one of the stronger YA adaptations of its era.
