Itse K @itsekukin 6d Typically zombie movies feature characters that have you thinking: "they should just do [x]", followed by the character doing the dumbest possible thing... Well, not so here. This became my favourite zombie film of all time, simply because that dynamic was not there. It was refreshing to think "they should do [x]" and actually have that followed, time after time, by the character actually doing so. No engineered stupidity. First ever time where film makers experiencing complete fatigue, possibly burn out. I love it. They're enslaved now to their own lifestyle, and are forced to be Hollywood's movie monkeys, and dance without any choice. It went from passion to obligation. Incredibly secular, self indulging, pigs are finally getting We're out by their own world views, and it's eating them alive. Beautiful. Thematic musical initiatives throughout the movie, quiet zombies and a constant lingering tension. This movie is not enough to feel fully satisfied, its like vanilla ice cream without the vanilla. There was moments I asked "why?" with the main character but honestly, his seeming insanity makes sense. Being stuck in total isolation, your family and friends dead, and seeing carnage nonstop would take a major toll on the mind. It is both a psychological horror, body horror, and zombie horror. You don't often get to see how a situation like this would affect the mental health and sanity of someone, most of the time it is just explosions and gore which I love too don't get me wrong, but the silence, the silent zombies, and the beautiful music it is an absolute artistic masterpiece. Most people give this movie a bad review because it wasn't action packed enough for them (even though it had plenty of action and suspence), that wasn't the intention of the movie. It was to show the sheer mental deterioration such a scenario would have and the metaphors of going through depression and loss, the symbolism is palpable. See more Thomas J @RT95709530 Mar 29 Ugh. We just kept asking "why?" while watching this. If you want a slow paced story about a guy who isn’t that bright surviving in an apartment when the zombie apocalypse happens, this is your movie. If you want anything interesting to happen, then look elsewhere. The most interesting part turns out to be a dream sequence. And the ending just leaves questions.
