Marco L @decatur555 Aug 6 The Occupant is an entertaining psychological thriller almost entirely carried by Javier Gutiérrez. He is excellent as a former advertising executive who cannot accept losing his job, status and luxurious apartment, gradually inserting himself into the life of the new family living there. Gutiérrez makes the character pathetic, frightening and fascinating at the same time, and his performance creates most of the film’s tension. Mario Casas, by contrast, is weak and cannot match him in their shared scenes, leaving an important part of the story without enough force. The first half develops the obsession effectively, while the final section relies too heavily on coincidences and predictable twists. Not especially original or profound, but watchable thanks to a superb central performance. See more L. It's full of plot holes that make it frustrating to watch. It's full of very unbelievable and unrealistic developments and has a very dumb ending.
