Alec H @alechbt Oct 24, 2026 One of those films whose cast could easily carry the story on their own, but it doesn't even need to rely on that. Excellent across the board: performances, direction, and screenplay. What I enjoy most, though, is the demonic characterization, especially in the third act, when things get much darker and more intense. A great film that raises philosophical questions about faith and belief while remaining thoroughly entertaining. It has the usual ingredients of the genre: a skeptical young priest, the Vatican, disturbing cases, questions of faith and a demonic threat that should feel more frightening than it actually does. The atmosphere is decent, and the film avoids some of the cheapest excesses of possession horror, but it is often too solemn and too slow for its own good. Hopkins gives the story presence and ambiguity every time he appears, yet the material around him remains familiar and predictable. There are a few effective scenes and some visual polish, but the film never becomes truly scary or emotionally powerful. It works as a passable religious horror movie, but little more. See more Aun M @AunMohammad Jun 6, 2026 Not so much horror and thrilling scenes in the movie.. two different beliefs have been shown in the movie. One believes in spirits and demonic power while other deals it scientifically. See more Butch T @RT65357523 May 1, 2026 Why do all these Hollywood movies, that draw from Christianity, seem to be made by liberal atheists? You can tell the story is liberal nonsense when they include nuns in the exorcism training. The big thing that unbelievers don't comprehend when making scripts involving demonic possession is that the Holy Spirit (dwelling in believers) and evil spirits/demons can not be in the same body. Believers in Christ can never be possessed by demons. Only unbelievers can be possessed. I wish Hollywood would bring back conservative Christians to write their scripts and direct their movies (and TV shows), especially when they are getting their plot from Christianity.
