Totally disagree with the majority of reviews. Well, not totally. The Whisper Man was formulaic. But virtually ALL films are. It's the very nature and necessity for films to be successful, at least financially. It's just that some films simply disguise the formula better than others. This one didn't disguise the formula very well. That said... The acting was terrific. DeNiro was pitch perfect for the character he was asked to play. Adam Scott's performance should remind filmmakers to give him meaty roles in major films. Michelle Monaghan is reliable as ever, the kind of actor stars want to have in supporting roles. Frankly, waiting for her to have that breakout role that they hand awards to the actors filling them. And of course, you have Keaton, who never ceases to amaze me as he always finds a way to add some new magic to a character we've seen before, played by so many others, even brilliantly so. What's left to do? Keaton always finds something. Direction was darn good, too.

I couldn’t believe it…a Netflix film that wasn’t woke, wasn’t loaded with virtue signalling and wasn’t promoting alternate lifestyles. In other words, a watchable movie. By no means a great movie, but decent all the same. If not for the 3rd act that took police incompetence to a whole new level I probably would have given it another star.
