Blu B @RT43513976 2 days ago I give Sellers a complete pass here. This isn't his fault in the slightest. This is part one of a two part complete train wreck duology to close out the original Panther run. I get they only had a fraction of the footage with Sellers and had to stitch together something to save the investment into this but it's terrible. It's basically a reporter trying to track down what happened to Sellers and the Pink Panther by interviewing everyone from the previous films in a quasi documentary almost in a way. There is one good thing here. The opening 15-20 minutes of this is actually pretty good because it's all Sellers footage and he's pretty darn funny. But than he legit is not in the rest of the film and everything just pancakes. The editing during the one transition to Niven is truly one of the worst edited things I've ever seen in a movie. It's Manos the Hands of Fate level bad. I will say the soundtrack, acting, and direction is all alright enough. Everyone is trying I think to salvage som See more Melissa L @Agent99 Jun 1, 2026 I loved it. I love the slapstick. I could see doing this if the previously unseen outtakes and deleted scenes from the other movies used here were so earth shatteringly good that constructing a flimsy narrative around them would be worth it. Unfortunately they range from "meh" to "fine" at best. The result is a shameless cash grab. If the intent was really to honor Sellers with this movie they failed miserably. See more Aug 28, 2021 Victor Frankenstein's monster was never as hideous as this. This movie called itself a tribute to Peter Sellers, but it was really an insult, as Sellers would never have allowed old footage of himself to be used in new movies. Yet this movie not only includes highlight scenes culled from prior Pink Panther movies, but unused footage that should have stayed unused. Add a thin story about the disappearance of Clouseau and a lot of mostly poorly-acted new material (though the scene where Dreyfus tries to keep from showing joy at the prospect of Clouseau's disappearing for good was the movie's only funny part), and that is exactly what this movie is. No exaggeration. Blake Edwards may have disliked Peter Sellers, and may have had good reason, but that didn't justify his obvious grave-robbing here. See more Read all reviews
