Vixo S @vixo_six Jun 11 Twin Peaks The Missing Pieces works as a valuable companion to Fire Walk with Me, not because it replaces the film, but because it deepens its emotional and mythological echoes. The deleted scenes add texture, humor and connections to the larger Twin Peaks universe, even if many would have disrupted the suffocating intensity of the final cut. Its most important contribution is the added attention to Laura Palmer. The scene with Dr. Will Hayward gives the ending of Fire Walk with Me a new layer of tenderness, pain and spiritual hope, making the final emotion feel even more complete without turning mystery into explanation. Sheryl Lee remains extraordinary in every fragment, while Ray Wise continues to bring unbearable tension. The Missing Pieces is uneven by nature, but its best moments prove that even what was left outside can reshape how the whole story is felt. See more Jacob B @RT89309114 04/05/2023 While not everything in this collection of deleted scenes is necessary viewing and I'm not losing any sleep over most of these scenes not being in Fire Walk With Me, The Missing Pieces is still an enjoyable 90-minute return to the world of Twin Peaks that shows David Lynch at his surreal best, has great acting and, to give credit where it's due, helps give a better understanding of certain scenes that seemed peculiar, even by Lynch standards. The Phillip Jeffries scene should've been in the final film and I think it would've helped build up to the heartbreaking conclusion we know is going to happen when we see the Palmers happily eating dinner. The Missing Pieces is very much a collection of deleted scenes rather than a proper film but it does have enough of the show's quirky charm to be worth a look. After all, some of these scenes are important for The Return, which I'll hopefully get around to in a few weeks' time. See more Read all reviews
