While expansively anarchic to a fault, the movie’s anger, and its pride, is convincing. Go to Full Review

Can someone tell Tyler Perry that he doesn't have to keep doing this. He has to be doing well, right? Like, he has plenty of money already, doesn't he? Go to Full Review

No doubt about it, Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip is a Tyler Perry movie. Go to Full Review

Refreshingly, Perry finally brings purpose in messaging to his film, but now has no idea what to do with it, leaving it to the two most obnoxious characters to solve the problems of the world. Go to Full Review

Perry is back again with another cheap endeavor that mixes rough comedy with insincere messages on black history, remaining as slapdash as ever with his writing and direction. Go to Full Review

Kim P 10h Tyler Perry movies are pretty heavy-handed in their messages, but this one is at least amusing. Still has the stereotypical characters and unbelievable changes in their mindset by film's end but ay least it doesn't have Perry's obligatory 5 minute long slow-ass depressing song! Madea was barely in it and that was surprisingly fine See more Matthew P. @Filmcritic123 10h Movie is a nonstop talk about race. It’s honestly exhausting watching two hours of people talking/joking about race and stereotypes. Tyler Perry thinks he’s showing us “American black history” and their struggle in a white dominant society but he’s really just emphasizing black stereotypes. It’s also boring and not funny. See more Saturn T @TsunamiSaturn 11h THIS IS TYLERS FUNNIEST MOVIE HE HAS EVER MADE!!!! I was going in thinking it would be an enjoyable watch but MAN!! He didn’t disappoint at all. This is the most adult and explicit he has ever been and I LOVED IT!! Much needed as it shows progression and growth in the Madea franchise. Joe’s story has allowed Tyler to take the more adult route he has probably always wanted to go down and I’m super excited for more!! WE NEED MORE OF JOE’S Story!! Madea movies are always funny for the most part but they have always depended heavily on keeping things pg13.. Not this time kids!! This was so necessary as a way to refresh people and the interest in the Madea franchise. I’m happy to see Tyler letting loose and giving the more mature fans a pure rollercoaster ride of comedy! So if you’re in need of a good Rated R laugh this is it. This movie will stand out with some of the best pure adult comedies and I’m fully here for it. It reminds me of The Watch or Superbad or even Black Dynamite! See more katelyn K. @kkeyton 11h This movie is hilarious. Love the historical accuracy and deeper messages of the film. Overall, I think is one of the most hilarious movies of the year so far. See more Ryan C. @djrmc24 14h Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip is certainly the raunchiest/risky of all of the Tyler Perry movies to date and earns it’s R rating, but does not make it a good movie. In fact, this is probably one of the worst Tyler Perry movies to date. It’s insulting to the audience and just isn’t that funny. The whole movie feels if an amateur had created this. The jokes are misfires and didn’t really get a good message from all of this mess. There are a lot more better comedies out there that push the envelope that you should watch instead of this mess. This film gets the lowest rating of 1 star out of 5. See more Tatiana H 15h Joe’s college road trip was the perfect movie to watch during black history month! It’s so important to talk about black history in America where some many people and corporations want to erase it . I love that discuss HBCUs too. Might be slightly inappropriate for younger age crowds. Although not one of Tyler’s best film, it was still worth a watch. See more Read all reviews
