SPOILER ALERT!! Unbreakable is a movie that perfectly blends the comic book/superhero genre with the thriller/suspense genre. As a fan of both, I really enjoyed this movie. Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson are amazing in this movie. Samuel is a standout, though. In particular, the scene where he falls down the stairs is heartbreaking and can kinda hurt to watch. The plot is very good. Discovering David's ability and weakness as the characters do is fun and makes the story more immersive. The twist at the end where we learn what Mr. Glass has been doing is really great. This movie also has very good cinematography, in particular the scene in the pool is shot very well. There isn't a whole lot of horror elements, but the 1 jumpscare still gets me! Overall, Unbreakable is an amazing film that blends 2 really cool genres in ways that make sense and work. Really good movie that you should watch if you like one or both of the genres in this movie.

M. Night can do no wrong; this was my first time watching this movie in full, and I had a great experience watching it. The performances all around are great, and I love seeing Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson share the screen. M Night is also so great at creating thrilling moments, and the twist really took me by surprise.

Aesthetically and cinematically, this movie is basically just a copy and paste of The Sixth Sense, but instead of a somewhat clever and creepy ghost story, it's a poorly written superhero movie with a dumb, rushed, and unmotivated twist. The slow, brooding aesthetic worked for The Sixth Sense because of the nature of the genre (horror), but for a superhero movie, it doesn't work at all and a great deal of this movie is just watching Bruce Willis sulk and mope while the plot barely inches along.
